Truk Lagoon offers some of the best wreck diving in the world. Located amongst the thousands of Micronesian Islands, Chuuk (or Truk) became one of the most impressive strongholds of the Japanese navy during the war. The island provided a natural sanctuary with an encircling barrier reef, and the Japanese kept a huge fleet of their supply and naval ships there.
