Lunar New Year is one of the most important Chinese celebrations, and is commonly known as Chinese New Year all over the world. The celebration begins on the first day of the first month of the year and ends on the fifteenth day.

Chinese New Year is typically a time to spend with the family, and people travel from all over to meet up with their relatives during this period. Before the start of the Lunar Year, households are often completely cleaned out to give a fresh clean start to the New Year. Traditionally there are strict days to visit different relatives, and the first day of the New Year is reserved for the older members of the family.
