The Ice Hotel

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to stay at the Ice Hotel? Most of you may have heard about this wonderful bit of architecture, but for those of you who have not, let me explain. The Ice Hotel is located in the north of Sweden in the Arctic Circle. Every year, a new hotel is constructed out of the surrounding ice and then melts away in the spring.
Ice Hotel

The Ice Hotel is a phenomenal example of modern architecture, and gives guests an unforgettable experience. The entire facade of the hotel, as well as all the furniture and rooms, are all made entirely from ice. Teams of architects, designers and snow builders meet every year in the beginning of the winter to create a new hotel.

The Absolut Ice Bar is on the hotel premises serving cold drinks to guests. The blue lights in the room      give the Ice Bar surroundings a surreal feel to it, and the ice statues appear to come to life. The Ice Hotel is always at a temperature of between -5 and -8 degrees, and will feel warm to guests when coming in from outside. Staying at the Ice Hotel is a unique and once in a lifetime experience that should not be missed.  Many activities are offered in the area, including snow mobile, dogsled and moose safaris to experience the natural beauty of the north.
