Cocos Island is a small and mountainous island having been formed from volcanic activity over two and a half million years ago. The island is covered in tropical rainforest and cascading waterfalls, and is home to a rich diversity of flora and fauna and marine life. Steep walls and drop-offs plummet straight into the surrounding waters and large schools of fish can be seen for miles.
Cocos Island is renowned for its large schools of hammerhead sharks that swim around in their hundreds. Whale sharks and humpback whales are also frequently seen around the island, not to mention schools of large pelagic, dolphins and manta rays. If you want to dive and see big fish, then Cocos Islands will not disappoint.
